Anna Finlayson
About the author
Anna Finlayson is a qualified trainer with the Centre for Nonviolent Communication (CNVC) working
in London, the UK and internationally.
In the year 2000, whilst working as community and workplace mediators and conflict resolution
trainers, Anna and Daren DeWitt came across Nonviolent
Communication (NVC) and realised the profound paradigm shift it offers to our world – from
a ‘power over’ approach based on analysing and judging others, to a ‘partnership’
approach based on deep listening and empathy. Over the following six years, they trained
with Marshall Rosenberg, the originator of Nonviolent Communication and founder of the Centre
for Nonviolent Communication (CNVC).
Anna and Daren are now leading NVC trainers in the UK, and run an extensive public programme of foundation and post foundation trainings in NVC.
The combination of their experience in the areas of conflict resolution, mediation and nonviolent communication leaves them uniquely placed to support organisations, businesses and individuals to deal with conflict in a variety of forms. They have brought the NVC process to many different fields including high level coaching companies, local government sector departments, campaigning organisations, schools, as well as coaching for individuals and couples.
