How to sound charismatic

There is grace in the way some people walk, and there is grace in the way some people talk. The voice sounds charismatic when there is a match between the tone of voice and the sentiment being expressed, and where there is no awkwardness between the idea, emotion or thought, and how it is expressed through sound.

A speaker who is charismatic is congruent and internally aligned. The sound of the voice is in keeping with what is being expressed and comes from the whole body. Look at Resonance for some hints on how to do this.

There is no index of character so sure as the voice.

It is also about connection with the audience, so that they feel at one with the speaker. This is achieved when the speaker is free of self-consciousness and able to communicate authentically as him/herself.

Last, but certainly not least, people who are charismatic have a strong internal energy – a life force – which reveals itself whenever they speak. You will have the greatest impact on others when your energy is vibrant. This does not mean that you are over-forceful or manic; the inner energy is also evident in a peaceful demeanour and a quiet voice.
