About the author
Rachel Brushfield, MCIM, Aff CIPD, ICF is a talent management consultant to companies and a career strategist to individuals. Her company Energise was set up in 1997 and she has a background in marketing, brand strategy and communication, and coaching and mentoring.
Energise specialises in an integrated strategic yet targeted approach to attract, engage and develop the talent companies need to grow long term. The employer brand and insights about the needs of the target audiences are at the heart of what the company does. Energise applies a seamless approach and connects all parts of an organisation; the Board, HR, Marketing, line managers and targets talent, acting as a lynchpin connecting the different parts of organisations, reducing silos and bringing objectivity and expertise. It helps to overcome the actual and perceived blocks to progress, such as turning talent strategy into reality, and shares unique insights about the fears and aspirations of talent, gained from extensive coaching of individuals.
Energise focuses on three key aspects of talent management in an integrated way:
- Attraction – by defining a differentiated and compelling employer brand (how your company needs to be to be attractive to your target talent and stand out from your competitors)
- Engagement – by optimising the employee experience (how talent experiences your company through every interaction from recruitment, your web site, induction, performance appraisal and so on)
- Development – the employee proposition (what the employee gets from joining you, including learning and development and job design)
Energise helps to make its clients the leading employer of choice in their sector, so they attract the best talent, resulting in substantial and lasting improvements in their business performance. It only works with one company in a sector at any one time.
