Transactional Analysisby Len Horridge
What is Transactional Analysis? There is no short answer to this but, suffice to say, it does exactly what it says on the tin, it is a method of analysing transactions and seeing why they go wrong or right.
A transaction is really what happens between two people (a meeting, a conversation, a long time relationship) and the outcome of this, be it satisfactory or unsatisfactory.
Most transactions between two people are fine but, now and again, the transaction goes wrong and we don’t get the outcome we were after. Transactional Analysis (or TA as we’ll refer to it) gives you one way of seeing why.
Of course, this is only one type of analysis and TA is not a cure-all for transactions that don’t work... but it can be a useful way of sorting out many of them.
