About the author
Mark’s area of expertise is helping executive teams to execute strategy effectively in order to deliver more value. He has established a highly successful track record with clients in financial services, premium consumer goods, publishing, food services and pharmaceutical sectors.
Mark has 25 years’ experience combining practical leadership and high performance teamworking with strategic planning and operational management roles. He is an ‘operator’ at heart and is driven by a strong conviction that everybody can significantly improve their effectiveness by understanding their ‘mission’ and applying simple principles around clarity, alignment and confidence.
Mark gained experience of turning strategy into results during an early career as an Army logistics officer, including strategic planning roles in the Ministry of Defence, operational tours of duty as a bomb disposal officer in Northern Ireland and in a staff role with NATO in the former Yugoslavia. He left the Army as a Lieutenant Colonel in 2001 to build a career in management consulting.
He was a principal consultant, then director (UK) for McKinney Rogers, a strategy implementation consultancy, where he worked in a small team to sell, develop and deliver business performance solutions. He formed his own consulting business in 2006.
Mark Bouch has been consulting in organisational effectiveness and strategy implementation since 2001. His consultancy experience includes individual leader and leadership team development, senior team performance coaching, conference design and management and group facilitation. He is a collaborative, challenging and reliable consultant who has excellent references for helping client teams to exceed expectations and deliver consistently outstanding results.
Outside work Mark has a passion for the outdoor life. His hobbies include marathon kayaking, sailing, mountain walking and skiing faster than is sensible. He is a Vice President of Devizes Rugby Club (wisely refusing to play as a veteran). Mark thrives on a challenge. He successfully climbed Mount Kilimanjaro in 2007 and completed the 125 mile Devizes- Westminster canoe marathon in 2010 and 2011 (with his son) to raise funds for Combat Stress. Mark is a graduate of the Army Command and Staff College. He is married to Anne and has two children. They live in the middle of rural Wiltshire amongst fields, flat-coated retrievers and horses.
