Andy Taylor

About the author

Andy has been working in all areas of information security, portfolio, programme and project management for over 20 years.  He started during his career in the Royal Navy, the UK’s Ministry of Defence being one of the first public sector organisations to adopt formal project management techniques and undertook a number of postings related to information security.  He has established and helped many programmes and projects for a wide range of organisations in both the public and private sectors in the UK and abroad. He has also assisted with organisations’ information security measures.

The link between the change brought about by projects and programmes and business benefits is a particular passion. He has helped to establish portfolios in major government departments, programmes in commercial and government areas and projects in many places.  He has also undertaken project rescue duties for organisations where things were not going right.  He is an experienced trainer and has trained in many areas including benefits management and PRINCE2®.

Andy is the Managing Director of Aquila Business Services Ltd, a small consultancy company dealing in all aspects of programme and project management together with other business services including information security, publishing and related activities.  He is a Certified Management Consultant with the Institute of Consultancy and a registered PRINCE2®, MSP™ and Project and Programme Management Consultant with the APMG.  He is a Chartered IT Professional and Fellow of the British Computer Society, a Fellow of the Association for Project Management and a Fellow of the Royal Meteorological Society.  He is an examiner for the ISEB looking after several information security-based qualifications, and also an assessor for project and programme management trainers and consultants, together with their accredited training and consulting organisations.

He lives in the UK and has worked across Europe and in Australia. In his spare time Andy enjoys driving his Morgan, photography and his children.
